In 1993, Piers and I left Madrid after 20 years in publishing and scoured the country to find our dream retreat to convert into a beautiful country hotel. After a two-year search we discovered our ‘jewel in the wilderness’. La Torre del Visco was a semi-ruined 15th century estate house on a hillside overlooking extensive farmlands and forests.
We embarked on a long process of restoration and new building to create a unique destination surrounded by beautiful gardens. Today the hotel, restaurant and organic home-farm provide endless scope for our enduring passions: Spain, food, wine, farming, gardening, art and, above all hospitality.
Over the years, our business has grown by word of mouth and the majority of our guests have become regulars who enjoy our characteristically relaxed and friendly atmosphere as well as our unwavering standard of care.
