Excellent service is the very essence of a Relais & Châteaux. Our young staff, one per room, have been with us an average of 10 years and are either from the area or committed to it. They have all been trained by us in accordance with Relais & Chateaux concepts to embody our helpful and professional ethos. They are smiling and attentive but never intrusive, totally dedicated to making every guest as comfortable as possible during their stay.
Open fires. There’s nothing quite like the distinct appeal of an open fire which is why we have no less than 9 throughout the hotel including the kitchen and restaurant.
"Skywatching" terrace. Sofas, a firepit, and a powerful telescope are available for you to enjoy the spectacular night skies free from any light pollution.
Contemporary art. An interesting collection of original paintings, lithographs and sculptures are found throughout the hotel.
Landscaped gardens. From formal lawns, neat topiary and pretty pergolas to hidden terraces, climbing blooms and trickling waters our gardens offer a multitude of places to linger amidst the scent of over 100 rose varieties.
Flowers. Our gardens provide fresh blooms and greenery to decorate all the rooms throughout the year while bouquets for special occasions can also be arranged.
Own organic produce. 100% CAAE certified extra virgin olive oil, quince jelly, honey, jams, herbs, fruit and vegetables are all produced on the home farm.

Meeting room. A far cry from the usual impersonal, artificially lit meeting room, ours is bathed in natural light, beautifully decorated with garden views and an open fire. Capacity 30 pax.
Pets are welcome provided they are not in the public rooms or the restaurant, nor let free in the gardens. A small supplement is charged per night.
The hotel has a strict non –smoking policy in all rooms and interiors. Ashtrays are provided outside.
Due to the unique characteristics of the hotel - medieval, labyrinthine, built on a hillside - we regret that it has not been possible to adapt the facilities for those with disabilities.
There is no television in the hotel.
For young children we recommend supper in the kitchen before 8.30 pm. Baby listeners are available to enable parents to have a quiet and relaxed dinner after they are in bed.
